Aloe decaryi is a species of aloes in the subfamily of the Affodilla plants (Asphodeloideae). The specific epithet decaryi honors the French Raymond Decary .

description

Vegetative characteristics

Aloe decaryi grows trunk-forming and branched. The slender, upright trunks reach a length of 100 to 150 centimeters. The ten to 14 upright or spreading leaves are located at the shoot tips. The cloudy green, fleshy leaf blade is 15 to 19 inches long and 0.8 to 1.2 inches wide. The firm, white teeth on the edge of the leaf are 5 to 10 millimeters apart. The leaf sheaths are clearly striped.

Inflorescences and flowers

The upright, simple inflorescence reaches a length of 20 to 30 centimeters. The rather loose, short cylindrical grapes consist of up to 20 flowers. The bracts have a length of 8 millimeters and are 3 millimeters wide. The rose-red to scarlet flowers are on 10 millimeter long, pink flower stalks . The flowers are 20 to 30 millimeters long. At the level of the ovary , the flowers have a diameter of 6 millimeters. Your outer tepals are not fused together. The stamens and the pen stand 2 millimeters out from the flower.

Aloe decaryi is widespread in Madagascar in the dense coastal bush.
