description
Vegetative characteristics
Aloe kouebokkeveldensis grows without a trunk, is solitary or branched and forms small groups. The ascending, lanceolate leaves form upright or prostrate rosettes . The greyish to bluish white, indistinctly striped leaf blade is 40 to 48 centimeters long and 10 to 15 centimeters wide. It turns pale pink when dry. There are irregular, densely distributed spots on it. The pale pink-white teeth on the cartilaginous leaf margin are 1 millimeter long. The colorless leaf sap dries yellow.
Inflorescences and flowers
The inflorescence consists of up to 15 branches and reaches a length of 100 to 140 centimeters. The rather dense, heady grapes are 8 to 10 centimeters long. The bracts have a length of 5 to 8 millimeters and are 2 to 4 millimeters wide. The orange-red flowers are on 12 to 15 millimeter long peduncles . The flowers are 22 to 23 millimeters long. The base of the flower is swollen and 4 to 5 millimeters in diameter. Above that, the flowers are narrowed to 3 millimeters and finally expanded to 5 millimeters at the mouth. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of 7 millimeters. The stamens and the stylus barely protrude from the flower.
Systematics and distribution
Aloe kouebokkeveldensis is common in the Western Cape province of South Africa in a very small area on cliffs and steep slopes.
