description
Vegetative characteristics
Aloe pseudoparvula grows without stems, branches out and forms clumps. The 10 to 15 upright-spreading to back-bent, deltoid-pointed leaves form a leaf rosette . The gray-green, often pink-lined leaf blade is 7 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. On the upper side of the leaf there are numerous rounded spines up to 2 millimeters long. The soft, whitish teeth on the leaf margin are 1 millimeter long and 2.5 millimeters apart.
Inflorescences and flowers
The inflorescence is simple or has a branch and reaches a length of up to 55 centimeters. The rather loose, cylindrical grapes consist of 15 to 20 flowers. The reddish tinged bracts have a length of 5 to 8 millimeters and are 3 millimeters wide. The light pink, cylindrical flowers are up to 15 millimeters long, pink flower stalks . They are about 25 millimeters long and expanded to 5 millimeters in the middle. The outer tepals are not fused together over a length of 5 millimeters. The stamens and the stylus do not protrude from the flower.
Systematics and distribution
Aloe pruinosa is widespread in central Madagascar at altitudes of around 1200 meters.
The first description by Jean-Bernard Castillon was published in 2004.
