Aloysius Paul D'Souza

Aloysius Paul D'Souza ( Konkani : अलोय्सिउस पौल डी सोझा ( Devanagari ) , ಆಲೋಯ್ಸಿಉಸ್ ಪುಲ್ ದ ಒಜ ( Kannada ) ; born June 21, 1941 in Agrar) is an Indian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Mangalore .

Life

Aloysius Paul D'Souza was ordained a priest on December 3, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Dura and auxiliary bishop in Mangalore on January 11, 1996 . The Bishop of Mangalore, Basil Salvadore D'Souza , donated him episcopal ordination on May 15 of the same year . Co- consecrators were Alphonsus Mathias , Archbishop of Bangalore , and Patrick Paul D'Souza , Bishop of Varanasi . On November 8, 1996, he was appointed Bishop of Mangalore.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on July 3, 2018.
