The Alpbach flows through the town of Tegernsee into the Tegernsee . It rises on the Kreuzbergsattel below the Kreuzberg and is no deeper than 20 cm in most places. There are many pools in the upper course of the stream . In the lower course of the stream, the Alpbach has been straightened and channeled.
The source stream of the Alpbach is the so-called Oberalpbach. The Alpbach runs for a large part of its length in the Alpbachtal. He has a number of tributaries. The most important are the Erzgraben, the Rißbach, the Katzenbach and the Kohlhaufgraben (all right inflows - the largest of the smaller left inflows is the Euterzgraben).
A forest road runs parallel to the course of the stream over most of its length . The Alpbach-Alm is also located in the Alpbachtal between the forest road and Alpbach.
