On April 4, 2008 he was used for the first time in the professional team in the 2nd Bundesliga . Milan Šašić replaced him in the game against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the 67th minute. He came to two more missions in May 2009, when he was replaced by FCK II coach Alois Schwartz on the 31st and 34th matchdays.

After he had signed a professional contract with the Palatinate until 2011 in the summer of 2009, he came to his fourth and last short assignment for 1. For the second half of the 2012/13 season, Akçam moved to the regional division Wormatia Worms . After the collaboration was ended in summer 2014, Akçam trained again with the Wormatia squad from autumn 2014 after recovering from pubic bone inflammation.
