Alphons Maria Rathgeber

Alphons Maria Rathgeber (born June 8, 1888 in Unterroth ; † July 16, 1964 in Kaufbeuren ) was a German Catholic pastor and author of popular writings on faith and the church.

Life

Rathgeber, son of a teacher, studied theology in Munich and was ordained a priest in 1912 . After pastoral care activities in Immenstadt im Allgäu , Starnberg , Augsburg and from 1917 in Wasserburg (Lake Constance) he was pastor in Haselbach in 1925 , in Lauchdorf in 1939 and in Adelsried from 1946 to 1949 .

From 1926 to 1939 he was editor of the Bamberger Sonntagsblatt , from 1946 to 1957 of the Augsburg diocese newspaper St. Ulrichsblatt .
