Alphons Roellinger

Alphons Alexander Roellinger (born December 29, 1849 in Eschentzweiler , † March 15, 1918 in Gebweiler ) was a Catholic clergyman and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Roellinger attended the small seminars Lachapelle-sous-Rougemont and Strasbourg and studied theology in Zillisheim , in the large seminary in Besançon and finally in the large seminary in Strasbourg. He served as a volunteer at the time of the Franco-Prussian War and was made a sous-lieutenant on January 21, 1871. From 1873 to 1890 vicar at the Stephanskirche in Mulhouse and president of the Catholic youth club, from 1890 to 1896 pastor in Issenheim and since 1896 canton pastor in Gebweiler.

From 1898 and 1907 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Reichsland Elsaß-Lothringen 4 ( Gebweiler ).

In 1985 the Rue du Chanoine Roellinger in Issenheim was named after him.
