Alphonse Nguyên Huu Long

Alphonse Nguyên Huu Long PSS (born January 25, 1953 in Hanoi ) is a Vietnamese clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Vinh .

Life

Alphonse Nguyên Huu Long received on December 29, 1990 the ordination for the diocese of Đà Nng . Later he entered the order of the Sulpizians .

On June 15, 2013, Pope Francis appointed him auxiliary bishop in Hưng Hóa and titular bishop of Gummi in Byzacena . The bishop of Hung Hóa, Jean Marie Vu Tât , ordained him episcopal on September 6th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Da Nang , Joseph Chau Ngoc Tri , and Pierre Nguyên Van Kham , Auxiliary Bishop in Ho Chi Minh City .

On December 22, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Vinh. The inauguration took place on February 12, 2019.
