At the 1st Alpine World Ski Championships in Mürren in Switzerland in 1931 , a male alpine combination competition consisting of slalom and downhill was held.

Due to the fact that the downhill run was shortened due to the weather conditions and the slalom took place in only one run, the competition was not officially rated by the FIS.

The Swiss Walter Prager would have become the first world champion in alpine combination .
