Altenmellrich is part of the municipality of Anröchte in the Soest district . It is on the L 748, below the hair strand .

history

The first written mention of Altenmellrich comes from the year 1177.

Before January 1, 1975, Altenmellrich was part of the Anröchte office in the Lippstadt district . With the entry into force of the Münster / Hamm Act on that day, the municipalities of the Anröchte office were merged to form the new municipality of Anröchte and the Lippstadt district with the previous district of Soest to form the new district of Soest .

The village has already won top places in the competition Our village should be more beautiful several times .

Economy and Infrastructure

Altenmellrich is considered a bioenergy village , which is at least half supplied from renewable energy. A biogas plant and two combined heat and power plants were built for this purpose.

Attractions

  • St. George's Chapel , built in 1919. Its predecessor was built in 1716, but had to be demolished. A bell from 1627 is still preserved.
