Mellrich is part of the municipality of Anröchte in the Soest district .
geography
The place is about three kilometers southwest of Anröchte on federal highway 55 . The K 64 and the K 23 run through the village. The Sunderbach rises in Mellrich. Neighboring places are Altenmellrich , Robringhausen, Anröchte, Uelde and Waltringhausen .
history
The first written mention of Mellrich comes from the year 1177. Before January 1, 1975, Mellrich was an independent municipality in the office of Anröchte in the Lippstadt district .
With the entry into force of the Münster / Hamm Act , the municipalities of the Anröchte office were merged to form the new municipality of Anröchte and the Lippstadt district with the previous district of Soest to form the new district of Soest .
