The house Altetopfstraße 2 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The building is located south of the historic Quedlinburg old town. The house is registered in the Quedlinburg monument register as an arable citizen's house and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site .

Architecture and history

The half-timbered house was the gatehouse of a courtyard, but no other buildings have survived. It was created after dating in 1704. An ancient row of windows is remarkable . There are bevel beam heads on the facade . It is the latest occurrence of this design element in Quedlinburg. Further decorative elements are a profiled parapet plank and the remains of the decorative walling of the compartments .

West of the gate passage is a carved house entrance door with a skylight , which was built around 1820.

In the years 1980 to 1986, the building was expanded together with the Weißer Engel house further to the east and a new building at Altetopfstraße 1 in between to become the headquarters of the VEB Denkmalpflege for the Halle district .
