The Haus Gasthaus “Am Münzenberg” is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt . Currently (as of 2012) the house is empty and is not used as a restaurant.
location
The building is located at Altetopfstraße 11-13 south of the historic Quedlinburg old town. It is located in a corner at the confluence of Altetopfstraße and Wipertistraße . The building, which is also listed, is adjacent to Altetopfstraße 14 to the east . It is registered in the Quedlinburg monument register. The name of the inn made reference to the somewhat more westerly Quedlinburger area Münzenberg .
Architecture and history
Prior to the erection of the present building was at this point from the Middle Ages dating pottery . The inn was built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Older buildings dating from the 19th century were integrated into the part of the building erected along Wipertistraße. While the older part of the house is plastered, the rest of the facade has been designed in a cautious historical style. The structure is made up of clinker bricks and plastered surfaces.
The building is currently (as of 2012) in need of renovation.
