The house Altetopfstraße 9 is a building in the town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt . It was a listed building , but the protection status was revoked.

location

The building is located south of the historic Quedlinburg old town. The building, which is also listed, is adjacent to Altetopfstrasse 10 to the west and Altetopfstrasse 8 to the east . The house was registered in the Quedlinburg monument register as a residential building.

Architecture and history

The half-timbered house was built in two construction phases. The eastern part of the building was based on an inscription in 1614. The facade shows the half-timbered shape of the half man . In addition, the beam heads are designed in the shape of cylinders and decorated with notch-cut rosettes . On the threshold there is a pentagram , the monograms NH and GW as well as a craftsman's mark made of compass , hatchet and angle iron . The craftsman's coat of arms is the oldest surviving symbol of its kind in Quedlinburg. It is located above a beam head and is framed by a circle so that it resembles the circular ornaments to the left and right of it.

To the west of this is the younger part of the building, built around 1680. On Traufgesims and on the floor threshold are pyramidal beam heads incorporated.

The building was a listed building at least in the 1990s. The protection status was then lifted.
