Alwin Arnegger (born February 6, 1883 in Hohenweiler near Bregenz , † April 26, 1916 in Munich ) was an Austrian portrait and landscape painter .

Life

Arnegger was born in Hohenweiler near Bregenz. After studying in Vienna and Prague, he began his apprenticeship with his friend Hans Bertle and Julius Diez in 1906 . On April 26, 1907, encouraged by Bertle, he began to study drawing at the Munich Art Academy . There he perfected his skills with Carl von Marrs . He later ran a studio in Schwabing .

Arnegger was one of the great talented Vorarlberg artists. His focus was on portrait and landscape oil paintings.

He was a member of the Catholic student associations KaV Norica Wien (since 1904), KDStV Vandalia Prague (since 1905) and KDStV Rheno-Franconia Munich (since 1906).
