Amé III. de Sarrebruck-Commercy
Amé III. de Sarrebruck-Commercy (born October 20, 1495 , † November 19, 1525 in Paris ) was a French nobleman and military; he was Comte de Braine et de Roucy , Seigneur de Commercy -Château-Haut, de Montmirail et de La Ferté Gaucher .
Amé III. was the only son of Robert II. de Sarrebruck-Commercy († 1504), Count of Braine and Roucy, Seigneur de Commercy, and Marie d'Amboise († 1519), who in turn was a daughter of Charles I d'Amboise . In 1504 he inherited his father's property and title.
After the battle of Marignano (September 13-14, 1515) he was knighted. He became Capitaine et Fourier des ordonnances du Roi .
Amé III. married on July 18, 1520 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye Renée de La Marck, daughter of William the Younger, Seigneur de Montbazon; the couple had a son, Robert, who died as a young child.
On May 23, 1525, after approval by the Parliament, he was appointed as Deputy of François I de Bourbon-Saint-Pol to the governor de Paris et de l'Île-de-France ( Lieutenant en l'absence du Comte de Saint-Pol ) ordered; Jean de Torcy was appointed to his deputy on November 7, 1525 ( Lieutenant au lieu du Comte de Braine ) - twelve days before Amé III. died.
He died on November 19, 1525 at the age of 30 and was buried in the Saint-Yved church in Braine . The inheritance was divided:
- Commercy inherited his sister Philippe († 1551), widow of Charles de Silly († 1516); the new lord of Commercy was their son Jacques de Silly († 1571)
- Roucy inherited his sister Catherine († 1542), widow of Antoine de Roye († 1515); new Count of Braine was their son Charles de Roye († 1551) ( House Roye )
- Braine inherited his sister Guillemette († 1571), who with Robert III. de La Marck († 1536), who was Marshal of France in 1526 and Lord of Sedan in 1536; their son Robert IV. de La Marck († 1556) ( House of Mark ) was the new Count of Braine
Amé's widow married Charles de Croy, 4th Comte de Porcien, Comte de Seneghem, Baron de Montornet († probably 1556) ( House Croy ) with a marriage contract dated May 13, 1529 .
