Amédé Barth (Amadeus) (* 11. October 1899 in Zurich ; † 29. August 1926 in Romanäs in Tranås , heimatberechtigt in Dagmersellen ) was a Swiss painter and draftsman .

life and work

Amédé Barth attended arts and crafts schools in Zurich and Bern and moved to Paris in 1920 , where he regularly exhibited his landscapes and still lifes in the Salon d'Automne (1922–1924), Salon des Indépendants (1923) and Salon des Tuileries (1924–1927).

In 1922 Barth married the Swedish painter Signe Madelaine Pettersson (1895–1982). After numerous trips that she u. a. led to Amsterdam , London and Berlin , Barth settled with his wife in Stockholm in 1926 , where he died of pulmonary tuberculosis in the Romanäs sanatorium that same year .
