Amélie Saadia

Amélie Saadia is a French-born, Berlin-based opera and chanson singer with a mezzo-soprano voice . In addition to numerous engagements at well-known music theater stages, she also devotes herself to composing her own chansons, songs and lieder in German and French. She performs throughout Europe, accompanying herself on the piano, on cabaret stages, in the offtheater scene and at festivals.

education

From 2007 to 2012 Saadia studied at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK) with the vocal teacher Julie Kaufmann and the singer Carola Höhn . In 2013 she completed her studies with a diploma. In 2015 she completed further training in baroque vocal music in Mainz at the Barock Vokal College of Music . Since October 2015 she has been a lecturer for Vom Blatt Singen at the Berlin UdK . Saadia had engagements and appearances from 2007 to 2009 at the Hebbel Theater in Berlin with plays by Ravel, Gluck and Britten. In 2010/11 Poulenc, Hindemith and a baroque concert at the Baroque Academy in Gmunden followed. In 2012 she performed the Petite Messe solennelle by Gioachino Rossini , Pergolesis Stabat mater and La Calisto in the Berlin Konzerthaus . As part of the 2013 opera at Schloss Griebenow, she appeared as Polly in the beggar opera. In 2014/15 she appeared in plays by Bernhard Lang, Christian Jost, Philip Glass and Giuseppe Verdi at the Heidelberg Theater and the Schwetzingen SWR Festival .
