Carola Höhn (singer)

Carola Höhn (* 1961 in Erfurt ) is a German singer with a soprano voice .

Live and act

The artist, who grew up in her hometown, studied at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar . During her training, she was hired at the State Theaters of Eisenach and Altenburg . At the age of 26 she got a permanent engagement at the State Opera Unter den Linden in Berlin . There she sang the major roles in her field, such as Pamina, Susanna, Marzelline, Agathe, Antonia etc. Carola Höhn sang at the opera stages in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Dresden, Milan a. a. m.

Guest tours have also taken the soprano abroad and a. to Austria, Italy, Holland, France, Japan, Spain and the USA. She worked with the great conductors of the time, with: Daniel Barenboim , Sebastian Weigle , James Conlon , Kent Nagano , Hartmut Haenchen , Lothar Zagrosek , Michael Gielen , Marcus Bosch , to name just a few of the many.

In addition to her stage presence, Carola Höhn is also active as a lieder and concert singer. Her repertoire includes works by Richard Wagner , Richard Strauss , Robert Schumann , Antonín Dvořák , Gustav Mahler , Sergej Prokofjew , Richard Danielpour and Camille Saint-Saëns .

Since 2004 she has been teaching singing at the Rostock University of Music and Theater .

In the summer semester of 2016 she was appointed professor at the UdK Berlin .
