On Saturday came back Sams is a television recording from 1980, of the puppet play by the Augsburger Puppenkiste based on the book of the same name by Paul Maar .
The film is a sequel to the film A Week of Saturdays .

Mr. Taschenbier misses the Sams that had to leave. Therefore, he does everything to ensure that the events happen on the weekdays that were responsible for the first appearance of Sam. The sun actually shines on Sunday, on Monday Mr Taschenbier has Mr Mon visiting, on Tuesday Mr Taschenbier is on duty, Wednesday is midweek. Thursday turns out to be problematic. Due to the lack of thunder, Mr. Taschenbier made thunder noises with a tin on Thursday. Ultimately, Friday is free, so that Sams actually appears again on Saturday with new wish points. The next thing Mr. Taschenbier wants is the functionality of the dream machine that he wanted the previous time. The dream machine actually turns out to be functional, but shows considerable pitfalls over the course of the days, so that the dream machine has to be put out of operation. With the last wish point of the Sam, Mr. Taschenbier finally wishes that it always stays with him.

The children's film , which is based on the second book in the Sams series by Paul Maar, which appeared in the same year, was recorded on behalf of the Hessischer Rundfunk and first broadcast on June 10, 1980. The film was released on DVD together with the previous part under the name "Das Sams".
