occupation

On dam des there was an Austrian children's program broadcast on weekdays between April 1, 1975 and 1993 on FS1 (later ORF 1 ).

The show was aimed at preschoolers who did not have the opportunity to attend kindergarten. The children were entertained with stories, songs and handicraft instructions.

Moderation and contributors

The moderator took on the role of a kindergarten teacher - analogous to established terms such as television cook, the audience quickly gave her the title of "television kindergarten aunt". The first moderator was Elga Weinberger , followed later by Lieselotte Plauensteiner , Uschi Horner , Lydia Weiss ( Pippa ), Claudia Gottlieb , Mara Schwarz , “Kindergarten UncleKlaus Wintersperger , Irina Probost , Elisabeth Vitouch , Bernadette Schneider , Ingrid Erkyn , Ingrid Riegler , Edith Rolles and Kurt Shalaby . The regular participation of the pianist Norbert Pawlicki on the concert grand is also remarkable .

In addition to the respective presenter, the two clowns Habakuk ( Arminio Rothstein ) and Enrico Emmanuel Theobaldissimus Fillissi Maximo ( Heinz Zuber ) alternated on the show. The doll Mimi , a goose, originally designed by Rothstein for a film adaptation of the fairy tale The Dwarf Nose , appeared on the show for the first time in October 1982 and was henceforth also part of the series. The clown group “Kaikukas” with Lydia Weiss , Peter “Golem” Kutzer and Flöti, under the direction of Evamaria Kaiser , were also guests several times. The magician Bobby Lugano appeared on the show occasionally .

Heinz Zuber and Lieselotte Plauensteiner were also the presenters of the previous program Das kleine Haus . The follow-up programs to Am dam des were Mimis Villa Schnattermund and the 6-minute magazine Mimis Schnattershow .

Theme song

The verse sung as a canon for the title melody is striking: Am dam des, disse malle press, disse malle pumperness, am dam des. Originally this is a Czech counting rhyme that can be translated as follows: Am dam des, you're a little dog , you are a little pumperness, am dam des (in the original: “Am dam des, ty jseš malej pes, ty jseš malej pumprnes, am dam des”). This verse was written by the Viennese copywriter Leo Parthé .

In addition, in earlier broadcasts a fist with thumbs up in a honeycomb appeared; in later broadcasts a picture of a locomotive.

Earlier programs were divided into partial episodes that had their own cover picture:

  • a green honeycomb with a yellow door handle (outlined in red) announced a guest
  • a green honeycomb with the guitar (outlined in blue) the song of the week, which thematically linked the four episodes of a week.

There were also

  • a blue honeycomb (outlined in light green) with scissors and handicraft tools
  • a red honeycomb (outlined in dark green) with a magnifying glass
  • a cyan-colored honeycomb (bordered in red) with cubes
  • a green honeycomb (outlined in red) depicting figures

Song of the week

There was a weekly theme and four daily themes, which could also be taken up in the “song of the week”. The property song is an example:

I want to be as light as a feather,
but unfortunately my stomach is heavy as a stone,
because I ate 13 dumplings big and small
much too quickly at once and slowly
realize that that was too much, my screaming doesn't help much

Trivia

  • In January 1977, the first Am-Dam-Des magazine appeared, a monthly newspaper for parents and children with a preview of the children's television program. The educational director and author of the series, Franz Josef Barta, acted as editor-in-chief. In December 1977 the Am-dam-des-Jahrbuch was published for the first time with all monthly issues of the year.
  • Christoph Waltz appeared on the show in 1977 as “New Year” and sang a short song.
  • The program was broadcast on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays instead, the puppet show, from which the clown Habakuk is known , was usually broadcast .
