American Guinea Pig 3: Sacrifice (OT: American Guinea Pig: Sacrifice ) is an Italian splatter film from 2017. It is the directorial debut of the actress Poison Rouge and, through licensing, became the third part of the American Guinea Pig series .

action

Daniel, who could not cope with the death of his father, tries to resurrect the Babylonian goddess Ishtar through a bizarre ritual that mainly consists of self-mutilation . He retires to the bathroom of his parents' house. First he starts cutting his hand, then he removes the toenail of his big toe. He publishes the progress on Facebook . When he drills a hole in his skull with a screwdriver, the goddess appears to him for the first time.

Then he tries to complete the ritual. First, he inserts a screwdriver into his urethra until he ejaculates blood. Then he removes the penis himself with a kitchen knife. He gets into a bathtub and bleeds to death in it. When he sinks into it, he rises from the water as the goddess Ishtar.

A few days later, all that's left is his decomposed body.

background

Sacrifice was originally planned by director Domiziano Cristopharo as the first part of a trilogy of death . In the original script version it was a nihilistic horror comedy. But Cristopharo's ideas were too extreme for Italian film funding. Since the leading actress jumped at the last minute and he therefore applied for Poison Rouge, he also gave her the direction of the film. Poison Rouge wrote a new script called Like a Guinea Pig Sacrifice . The director saw the film as her version of He Never Dies .

The shooting took place over ten days in Italy and Bulgaria. Stephen Biro initially banned her from using the Guinea Pig seal , so the film was renamed Sacrifice . But Biro later showed interest in a screener . When he saw it, he decided to publish it as part of his American Guinea Pig series.

The film premiered on March 1, 2017. A German dubbed version was released on November 30, 2018 on the Dutch label Extreme.
