The Ammerland Route is a circular cycle path of approx. 160 kilometers in length, which crosses various types of landscape, including the Zwischenahner Meer , but above all the park landscapes of the Lower Saxony district of Ammerland . In addition to the district town of Westerstede , it touches the health resorts of Bad Zwischenahn and Rastede , an alternative route also leads through Oldenburg , another through the leisure area Conneforde .

The path leads past five so-called landscape windows that were erected as part of the 2002 State Garden Show . The route is signposted in both directions along well-developed, but low-traffic or completely car-free paths. So there is no start or end point. Because of its easy accessibility by train, it makes sense to start in one of the three places mentioned above or in Oldenburg. In accordance with the predominantly flat landscape, the route does not make any special demands on the physical performance of cyclists.
