The Moor Route is a 42-kilometer circular cycle path that opens up the south-eastern part of the Ammerland . The so-called Oldenburg-Ammerländer Geestrücken was bounded by extensive marginal moors until the beginning of the 19th century. Only in a few places, the so-called dams , were these areas passable. During the moor colonization , this moor was made arable for agricultural use. Today one can only guess the hardship of the people who once settled here. Visitors to the Moor and Fehn Museum in Elisabethfehn get impressions of this meager life , which is not on this route. A typical feature of the landscape is the expanse of the former moorland.

The best way to start the route is in Ekern (more precisely: at the "Landhaus Ekern", which can be easily reached from Bad Zwischenahn (train station) on the Reiherweg , the cycle path on the former small railway line). Moved counter-clockwise, the route touches the following stations (or certain sights are easy to reach):
