The AmorePacific Group is a South Korean company that specializes in cosmetic products. It develops and manufactures the products and markets them in Asia, North America and Europe. The group is expected to continue expanding in the Middle East this year. The enormous increase in sales and profits since 2013 was remarkable. A major reason for the business success was the international spread of K-Pop and K-Drama ( Korean wave ), the artists of which stand out with their flawless appearance. The chairman of the Suh Kyung-bae group has even become the second richest man in South Korea. In 2015 the AmorePacific group had sales of 5.66 trillion. Won. Income rose 30% quarter over quarter last year in the first quarter of 2016.

history

Ms. Yun Dok-jeong started her cosmetics business in Kaesŏng in 1932, producing chamomile oil . In 1945, right after the liberation from Japanese rule, the Taepyeongyang company was founded. Even before the Korean War , the company was known for its own brand "Melody Cream" and the product "ABC Pomade". In 1956 the company moved its headquarters to Seoul. After the Korean War, the city of Kaesong belonged to North Korea. In 1959 the company was renamed Taepyeongyang Chemical Industries and cooperated with the French company Coty .

In 1962, the company built the largest cosmetics factory in South Korea. Two years later, the company introduced the door-to-door distribution system. In 1973 Taepyeongyang Chemical Industries was listed on the stock exchange. In 1978 the company set up a research and development center.

In 1987 the company became PACIFIC Chemistry. Corp. renamed. A cooperation was established in France in the early 90s. In 1993 the company was renamed Taepyeongyang Corporation.

In 2000 the company established the Korea Breast Cancer Foundation. In 2002 the company was renamed AmorePacific. Four years later the holding company AmorePacific Group was founded. In 2010 the company established a second R&D center. Forbes named AmorePacific as one of the world's most innovative companies.
