Amphoe Bung Khla ( Thai : อำเภอ บุ่ง คล้า ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the east of Bueng Kan Province . The province of Bueng Kan is located in the north of the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .
geography
The province of Bueng Kan is located about 615 kilometers northeast of Bangkok along the Mekong , which is the border with Laos .
Bung Khla district borders the following counties (clockwise from the south): Bueng Khong Long , Seka and Bueng Kan district in Nong Khai Province. To the east, on the other bank of the Mekong, lies the Bolikhamsai province of Laos .
The Phu Wua Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the county.
history
Bung Khla was established on April 1, 1991, initially as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating its area from the Bueng Kan district . On December 5, 1996, it was promoted to Amphoe.
