Amphoe Pak Khat ( Thai : อำเภอ ปาก คาด ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Bueng Kan . The province of Bueng Kan is located in the north of the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

The province of Bueng Kan is located about 615 kilometers northeast of Bangkok along the Mekong , which is the border with Laos .

Amphoe Pak Khat borders the following counties (clockwise from east): Amphoe Bueng Kan and So Phisai in Bueng Kan Province and Amphoe Rattanawapi in Nong Khai Province . In the northwest, on the other bank of the Mekong, lies the Bolikhamsai province of Laos .

history

Pak Khat was first established on October 1, 1978 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by being separated from the Phon Phisai district . On March 20, 1986, it was promoted to Amphoe.

Pak Khat County is divided into six tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 64 muban ("villages").

There is one municipality with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Pak Khat (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ปาก คาด ), consisting of parts of the Tambon Pak Khat and Non Sila.
