Amphoe Pak Phli ( Thai อำเภอ ปากพลี ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) in the eastern part of the Nakhon Nayok Province . The Nakhon Nayok Province is located in the northeast of the central region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from west): Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Nayok of Nakhon Nayok Province, Amphoe Pak Chong of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, and Amphoe Prachantakham , Mueang Prachin Buri, and Ban Sang of Prachin Buri Province .

history

The Pak Phli District was established in 1893, it was initially called Bung Rai ( บุ่ง ไร่ ). In 1905 the district was renamed Nong Pho ( หนอง โพธิ์ ). In the same year the administration was transferred to Ban Tha Daeng in Tambon Pak Phli. Hence the government named this district Khao Yai. The Khao Yai National Park of the same name was only inaugurated here in 1962. In 1909 the district got its current name Pak Phli.

The name of the district comes from the time when the rural people mainly moved on the water. During the rainy season, the current at the mouth of the Khlong Yang was so strong that accidents often occurred. A shrine was therefore built at the mouth to commemorate the dead and to be able to sacrifice to a protective deity. This process is called Phli or Phli Kam ( พลี or พลีกรรม ) in Thai . This is why the canal was later called Khlong Pak Phli, and over time this name was also used for the village and the tambon.

  • Pak Phli (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ปากพลี ) consisting of the complete Tambon Pak Phli.
  • Khok Kruat (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล โคก กรวด ) consisting of the complete tambon Khok Kruat.
  • Tha Ruea (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ท่าเรือ ) consisting of the complete tambon Tha Ruea.
  • Nong Saeng (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง แสง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Saeng.
