For some time now, however, more and more business people have been drawn to Prachin Buri from the relatively nearby capital, who find peace and seclusion here. Therefore, a not inconsiderable amount of money flows into the area.
Tourism does not play a special role here - despite the well-known Khao Yai National Park - although the area has many interesting places. The main occupation is agriculture , the main products here besides the obligatory rice , soy , durian , bamboo shoots and tapioca .
In 2009, the "Gross Provincial Product" (was GDP ) of the province of 75,244 million baht .

history
Many products from the Dvaravati period have been found in Prachin Buri , so it is believed that the area has been continuously inhabited since the 8th century. It was then ruled by the Khmer, who were pushed back more and more by the expansion of the empire of Ayutthaya .
Prachin Buri was built under King Mongkut (Rama IV) and completed in 1872 under King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). The first governor of the province was Phra Preecha Kolkan. After gold was discovered in the nearby Kabin Buri , he received orders from the king to set up a gold warehouse in Prachin Buri. Later the administrative building for the province was built from it.
