Amphoe Mueang Prachin Buri ( Thai : อำเภอ เมือง ปราจีนบุรี ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the Prachin Buri Province . The province of Prachin Buri is located in the east of the central region of Thailand .

Prachin Buri is located on the eastern edge of the central plain and is about 90 kilometers from the capital Bangkok . The area is criss-crossed by numerous canals, the khlongs .
Neighboring counties (clockwise from the east): the districts of Prachantakham , Si Maha Phot , Si Mahosot and Ban Sang of the province of Prachin Buri, and Amphoe Pak Phli of the province of Nakhon Nayok .
