Amphoe Wiang Nong Long ( Thai อำเภอ เวียง หนอง ล่อง , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː wīaŋ nɔ̌ːŋ lɔ̂ŋ ) is the smallest district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the northwest of the Lamphun Province . The Lamphun Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts are (from the east clockwise) Pa Sang District and Ban Hong of Lamphun province, and Chom Thong and Doi Lo of Chiang Mai Province .

history

Ban Hong was on 1 April 1995 as "branch circuit" ( King Amphoe ) from the circle Pa Sang split. The Thai government decided on May 15, 2007 that all 81 subdistricts should be granted full Amphoe status. This decision became official on August 24, 2007 when it was published in the Royal Gazette.

Local administration

There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Wang Phang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง ผาง ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Phang.
  • Nong Yuang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง ยวง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Yuang.
  • Nong Long (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง ล่อง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Long.
