The porcelain manufacture "Amphora-Werke kk priv. Keramische Werke Rießner, Stellmacher & Kessel" was founded in 1892 by Hans Rießner, Carl Rießner, Eduard Stellmacher and Rudolf Kessel and manufactured porcelain and luxury vessels that have won international awards. Initially, luxury boxes made of porcelain were produced here, from 1894 figures and from 1885 ceramic products such as vases , jardines and similar objects with floral ornaments as well as other porcelain products with an ivory-like surface, unsintered earthenware or stoneware .
Thanks to the successful export business, the company was soon able to expand. In 1896 there were 250 workers working here; in 1900 the company already employs 300 workers. The company had sales and showrooms in Paris , Vienna , Leipzig and Berlin .
In 1904 Eduard Stellmacher withdrew from the company and founded his own porcelain factory in Turn-Teplitz. The company subsequently operated under the name "Rießner & Kessel, kk priv. Keramische Werke Amphora ". After Rudolf Kessel left the company in 1910, the company was now called "Amphora-Werke Riessner" and was from then on under the sole management of Hans and Carl Rießner.
After the Second World War , the company was nationalized in 1945.
