history

The Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg approved the creation of the Emster-Havel Office on June 30, 1992. July 1, 1992 was set as the date on which the office was established. The office had its seat in the municipality of Jeserig and consisted of seven municipalities in the then Brandenburg district :

  1. Götz
  2. Gollwitz
  3. Jeserig
  4. Schenkenberg
  5. Trechwitz
  6. Junk
  7. Damsdorf

On March 15, 2002, the Ministry of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg approved the merger of the municipalities of Emstal, Göhlsdorf, Grebs, Krahne, Lehnin, Michelsdorf, Nahmitz, Netzen, Prützke, Rädel, Reckahn and Rietz (all of the Amt Lehnin) and the official municipality of Damsdorf of the Office Emster-Havel to the new municipality of Kloster Lehnin with effect from April 1, 2002.

On October 26, 2003, the new community Groß Kreutz / Emster was formed from the communities Bochow, Deetz, Groß Kreutz, Krielow and Schmergow of the office Groß Kreutz and the communities Götz, Jeserig and Schenkenberg of the office Emster-Havel. The municipality of Trechwitz of the Emster-Havel office, however, was incorporated into the municipality of Kloster Lehnin. The Emster-Havel office and the Groß Kreutz office were dissolved at the same time, and the Groß Kreutz / Emster community became vacant. The community of Groß Kreutz / Emster was renamed Groß Kreutz (Havel) on July 1, 2004. The municipalities of Jeserig and Schenkenberg lodged a municipal constitutional complaint against their legal integration into the municipality of Groß Kreutz (Havel), some of which were withdrawn by the municipalities, some of which were rejected and the rest was rejected.

Also on October 26, 2003, the municipalities of Gollwitz and Wust were incorporated into the city of Brandenburg an der Havel by law.

Office Director

The last official director of the Emster-Havel office was Wolfgang Kania.
