history

On August 31, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg gave his consent to the formation of the Groß Kreutz office. September 15, 1992 was set as the date of establishment of the office. The approval was initially limited to September 15, 1994. The office was located in the municipality of Groß Kreutz and consisted of six municipalities in the then Brandenburg-Land district :

  1. Gross Kreutz
  2. Schmergow
  3. Bochow
  4. Krielow
  5. The joke
  6. Deetz

The time limit was lifted from August 18, 1994. On October 26, 2003, the Derwitz community (Groß Kreutz office) was incorporated into the city of Werder (Havel). Through the fourth law for the state-wide municipal area reform concerning the districts Havelland, Potsdam-Mittelmark, Teltow-Fläming (4th GemGebRefGBbg) of March 24, 2003, the communities Bochow, Deetz, Groß Kreutz, Krielow and Schmergow as well as the communities Götz, Jeserig and Schenkenberg of the Office Emster-Havel merged to form the new community Groß Kreutz / Emster. The office of Groß Kreutz was dissolved and the municipality of Groß Kreutz / Emster became vacant. The municipality of Krielow lodged a municipal constitutional complaint against its incorporation into the new municipality of Groß Kreutz / Emster, which, however, was partially rejected and the rest rejected.

The community of Groß Kreutz / Emster was renamed Groß Kreutz (Havel) on July 1, 2004.

The first and last official director of the Groß Kreutz office was Manfred Meske. In 2003 he lost the runoff election for the office of mayor of Groß Kreutz / Emster.
