The Oderberg Office was an office established in 1992 in the Barnim district ( Brandenburg ). The official seat was in the city of Oderberg . Initially, five municipalities and the town of Oderberg of the former Eberswalde district were united in the Oderberg district . The Oderberg office was dissolved at the end of 2008, and most of the municipalities belonging to the office were assigned to the Britz-Chorin office. The official municipality of Hohensaaten was incorporated into Bad Freienwalde (Oder) . The enlarged office was renamed to Amt Britz-Chorin-Oderberg .

Geographical location

The Oderberg district was in the east of the Barnim district in Brandenburg (Germany) and bordered the Britz-Chorin district in the west, the Uckermark district in the north, the Republic of Poland in the east and the Märkisch-Oderland district in the south.

On June 17, 1992, the Minister of the Interior gave his approval for the formation of the Oderberg Office , which was set for June 19, 1992. The seat of the official administration was the city of Oderberg. The following five municipalities and the city of Oderberg from the then Eberswalde district were summarized in it:

In an announcement dated January 22, 1993, the Ministry announced its approval of the assignment of the Hohensaaten community to the Oderberg district. The assignment took effect on January 29, 1993.

On March 1, 2002, the municipalities of Lüdersdorf and Parstein merged to form the new municipality of Parsteinsee . At the same time, Lunow and Stolzenhagen also merged to form the new municipalities of Lunow-Stolzenhagen .

On January 1, 2009 the Office Oderberg, which last comprised five communities, was dissolved. The municipalities of Liepe, Lunow-Stolzenhagen (with the districts Lunow and Stolzenhagen), the town of Oderberg and Parsteinsee (with the districts Lüdersdorf and Parstein) were incorporated into the Britz-Chorin office, which was also renamed the Britz-Chorin-Oderberg office . The community of Hohensaaten (previously Barnim district) was incorporated into Bad Freienwalde (Oder) ( Märkisch-Oderland district ). The district boundaries between the district of Barnim and the district of Märkisch-Oderland have been changed accordingly; Like Bad Freienwalde, Hohensaaten is now part of the Märkisch-Oderland district.

The office last had 5552 inhabitants (December 31, 2008) on an area of ​​118.57 km².

Official directors

Christian Trill was the official director until 2000. Then Christina Faustmann. She was given temporary retirement in 2007 due to illness. Afterwards Christina Rüske took over the office as deputy head. The last official director was Ilka Sakowski. She was entrusted with the tasks by the Barnim district after the vacancy failed to fill the position.
