Lunow-Stolzenhagen [ ˈluːnoː- ] is an official municipality on the north-eastern edge of the Barnim district in Brandenburg . The place is administered by the Office Britz-Chorin-Oderberg .
geography
The place is located on the left bank of the Oder about 27 kilometers northeast of the district town of Eberswalde . The eastern municipal border forms the state border between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Poland .

The community consists of the districts Lunow and Stolzenhagen . Living spaces are Lunower Dammhaus and Vorwerk Steinberg.
history
In 1315 Stolzenhagen was mentioned for the first time in a border description, and in 1313 Lunow appeared for the first time in a document.
Tobacco growing can look back on a long tradition in the municipality . Around 1900, the chance seedling apple from Lunow was discovered here, which was once widely used as a tasty universal apple .
Lunow and Stolzenhagen belonged to the Angermünde district in the province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Eberswalde district in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) from 1952 . The villages have been in the Brandenburg district of Barnim since 1993.
The community was created on March 1, 2002 from the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent communities Lunow and Stolzenhagen, which today form the two districts. The residential areas Lunower Dammhaus and Vorwerk Steinberg also belong to the place.

Ponderosa Tanzland
Stolzenhagen is known in the national and international dance scene due to the training and further education offers of the locally based Ponderosa eV. The association was founded in 2000. Every year between May and September several hundred artists travel to 'Gut Stolzenhagen' to take part in the course program under the artistic direction of Stephanie Maher. The training dance teachers include renowned choreographers and dance teachers , such as B. Sara Shelton Mann , Keith Hennessey , Meg Stuart , Jess Curtis , Kathleen Hermesdorf etc. In addition to artistic training, the association is also active in areas of regional development. The activities are financed to a large extent from the course fees, with regional and supra-regional funding available to some extent. In 2011, Ponderosa eV was awarded the 'Barnimer Culture Prize' for its commitment.
