About this picture

history

Breydin (Breden) was first mentioned as a farm in the written documents in 1308. 16 Hufen of economic land belonged to this rural settlement  . In the land register of Charles IV. Breydin is listed in 1375 in the list of castles. According to the Brandenburger name book, the name means "place at a crossing (ford)" or "crossing at a river". Owners were the small nobles von Wulkow and from 1412 that of Sparr. The castle was 6 km south of the lordly Ebersburg in Eberswalde . Breydin was last mentioned in 1527. Remains of the ruins from the 13th century were excavated in the Trampe manor park.

Manor Trampe

The Trampe estate belonged to the von Sparr family from 1412 to 1771, followed by Friedrich Wilhelm von Wartenberg, and from 1802 to the land reform in 1945, the von der Schulenburg family . The manor house, built in 1657, was rebuilt in 1773 under Friedrich Wilhelm von Wartenberg in the Baroque style and received its present form through remodeling in the 1960s. In the 18th century, the associated garden was a regularly geometrically designed complex, the main axis of which led from the manor house to the zoo to the west. In the first third of the 19th century, with the redesign of the old garden and the redesign of a much larger area, the landscaped estate park was created, the main features of which have been preserved to the present day.

Trampe, Tuchen and Klobbbicke belonged to the Oberbarnim district in the province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Eberswalde district in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) from 1952 . The villages have been in the Brandenburg district of Barnim since 1993.

The community of Breydin was created on September 27, 1998 from the merger of the previously independent communities of Trampe and Tuchen-Klobbicke. The latter, in turn, arose from a merger of the places Tuchen and Klobbicke on May 19, 1974. The three places have the same postcode. The name "Breydin" is largely unknown outside of the three villages.
