The Iserlohn District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and the second largest of nine district courts in the district of the Hagen District Court .

Seat and District of the Court

The court is based in Iserlohn in the Märkisches Kreis , North Rhine-Westphalia . The 203 km² judicial district covers the area of ​​the towns of Iserlohn and Hemer with a total of around 127,000 inhabitants.

As the central register court, the Iserlohn District Court maintains the commercial and cooperative register for the districts of Altena , Iserlohn, Lüdenscheid , Meinerzhagen and Plettenberg . It also keeps the register of associations for the local courts of Altena, Iserlohn and Lüdenscheid .

The first own building existed from 1831 on Kohlmarkt (today Old Town Hall Square ). In 1869 the company moved into the now demolished courthouse in court Straße 21 . The new building in Friedrichstrasse 108/110 was occupied in 1984 and officially opened in a ceremony on January 24, 1985.

With the granting of city rights, Iserlohn received its own sovereign place of jurisdiction in 1237 . In 1808 a unified peace court in Iserlohn was set up and the Iserlohn council court, which had existed until then, was repealed.
