Plettenberg District Court
The Plettenberg District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction . It is one of nine local courts in the district of the Hagen District Court .
Seat and District of the Court
The seat of the court is Plettenberg in the Märkisches Kreis , North Rhine-Westphalia . The judicial district includes the city of Plettenberg and the municipality of Herscheid . 32,700 people live in this 155 km² area.
The commercial and cooperative register for the district of the district court of Plettenberg is kept at the district court of Iserlohn . For reminders and insolvency proceedings is Hagen District Court jurisdiction. The tasks of the agricultural court are the County Court Lüdenscheid assigned.

The court was housed in the town hall until 1900 . The courthouse at Lohmühle 5 , which was then occupied, was built in the historicist style and is now a listed building .
history
In 1397 a court in Plettenberg was first mentioned in a document. In 1714, nine farmers belonged to the Royal District Court . In 1820 the Plettenberg City and Regional Court was merged with the Altena City and Regional Court . As early as 1822, however, the court files were brought back from Altena by the citizens of Plettenberg . When the German judiciary was reorganized by the Courts Constitution Act of 1879, the court was given the name District Court .

The district court of Hagen is directly superior to the district court of Plettenberg. The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court Hamm .
