The Marktheidenfeld district court was an independent court of ordinary jurisdiction in Marktheidenfeld from 1879 to 1973 .

The Office of Marktheidenfeld Hochstift Würzburg was in 1803 in favor of Bavaria secularized and in a border cleanup contract in 1807 to the Grand Duchy of Würzburg left with which it finally fell to Bayern 1814th

In 1814, Marktheidenfeld became the seat of the Homburg Regional Court , the forerunner of the Marktheidenfeld Regional Court , an older regional court . In the Kingdom of Bavaria , the regional courts were judicial and administrative authorities, which were replaced in administrative matters by the district offices in 1862 and in legal matters by the local courts in 1879 . On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court of Marktheidenfeld was established, the district of which was formed from the previous district of Marktheidenfeld . The Marktheidenfeld district court was closed in 1973.

The court was located at Würzburger Straße 6. It is a two-storey hipped roof building with a gabled central projection and a richly structured sandstone block facade. The neo-renaissance building was built in 1886/87. After a corresponding renovation, the Marktheidenfeld police station is now located there.

Superior courts

The district court of Aschaffenburg was superordinate to the district court in Marktheidenfeld . The competent higher regional court was the higher regional court of Bamberg .
