The Amorbach District Court was a Bavarian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1932 and was based in the city of Amorbach .

history

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court in Amorbach was established, the district of which was formed from the previous district of Amorbach and consequently the municipalities of Amorbach, Beuchen , Boxbrunn , Hambrunn , Kirchzell , Ohrbach , Ottorfszell , Preunschen , Reichartshausen , Schneeberg , Watterbach , Weckbach and Weilbach . The next higher instance was the Aschaffenburg district court. With effect from May 1, 1932, the Amorbach district court was repealed and its district was merged with the district of the Miltenberg district court .

The district court was housed in the rooms of the former mainzische Amtskellerei in the Kellereigasse. The free-standing two-storey saddle roof building with a short side wing and a polygonal stair tower was built in 1483, served as a local history museum after the district court was closed and is a listed building.
