The District Court of Sulzbach-Rosenberg (until 1934 District Court of Sulzbach ) was a Bavarian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1973 and was based in the town of Sulzbach-Rosenberg in Bavaria .

history

The area around Amberg has belonged to Bavaria or to the Wittelsbach lines Pfalz-Neuburg and Pfalz-Sulzbach since the 14th century . In 1803, the district courts of Amberg and Sulzbach were established in the area of today's Amberg-Sulzbach district . From 1808 they belonged to the Regenkreis (capital Straubing, from 1810 Regensburg). In 1809, Amberg became a city in the immediate vicinity. In 1838 the Vilseck district court was also formed. All three regional courts then belonged to the Upper Palatinate . In 1862, the district offices of Amberg were formed from the older district courts of Amberg and Vilseck, and the district office of Sulzbach was formed as the administrative authority from the district court of Sulzbach. The regional court remained as the judicial authority and was transformed into the Sulzbach District Court with the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act in 1879. After the town of Sulzbach was merged with the neighboring community of Rosenberg in 1934 and now had a double name, the district office was also renamed and was henceforth the District Court of Sulzbach-Rosenberg. After the regional reform in Bavaria in 1973 the district court in Sulzbach-Rosenberg was dissolved and assigned to the district court of Amberg .
