An Chŏng-su (* 1951 ) is a North Korean politician from the Labor Party of Korea (PdAK), who is among other things a member of the Central Committee (ZK) of the PdAK, head of the Central Committee's department for light industry and a deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly .

Life

An Chŏng-su worked in the consumer goods sector and as an employee of the ZK department for light industry, in which he focused on the textile and clothing industry. In April 2010 he became a deputy of the 12th Supreme People's Assembly and during the third session of the 12th Supreme People's Assembly on June 7, 2010 he was appointed Minister of Light Industry in the Ch'oe Yŏng-rim cabinet . He also held this ministerial post in the Pak Pong-ju II cabinet from April 1, 2013 to April 9, 2014 . At the 3rd party conference of the Labor Party of Korea (PdAK) on September 28, 2010, he also became a member of the Central Committee (ZK) of the PdAK and has been a member of this executive committee ever since.

In November 2010 he was a member of the burial committee at the funeral of Vice Marshal Jo Myong-rok and in December 2011 at the funeral of Kim Jong-il . In November 2012 he was appointed a member of the State Advisory Commission for Physical Culture and Sport and in April 2014 he was re-elected as a deputy of the 13th Supreme People's Assembly , representing the constituency 558 Hamju . He is a close confidante of Prime Minister Pak Pong-ju and Kim Kyŏng-hŭi , Kim Jong-un's aunt , and was appointed head of the Central Committee's Light Industry Department in April 2014 as their successor. In November 2015 he was a member of the burial committee at the funeral of Marshal Ri Ul-sol and in December 2015 at the funeral of Kim Yang-gon . At the 7th party congress, which took place from May 6th to 9th, 2016, he was re-elected as a member of the Central Committee of the PdAK and confirmed as head of the Central Committee department for light industry. In May 2016, he was also a member of the funeral committee at the funeral of Kang Sok-ju .
