Ana Caram

Ana Caram (* 1. October 1958 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian bossa nova - and pop - jazz - singer , also guitar and flute playing.

Life

Caram graduated from São Paulo with a degree in composition and conducting. She moved to New York in the 80s . She received her first recognition when she performed with Paquito D'Rivera in Carnegie Hall at the JVC Jazz Festival in July 1988 . A recording contract with Chesky Records was the result, and for the first album she was able to engage the Brazilian old master of bossa nova, Antônio Carlos Jobim , for a few songs together. In June 1992 she performed again at Carnegie Hall at the JVC Jazz Festival. She worked with various Latin jazz and bossa nova musicians such as Paquito D'Rivera (since 1988), Antônio Carlos Jobim, Sergio Assad and Odair Assad .
