Anal groove

The Analrinne , gluteal , gluteal fold , gluteal groove , after channel , or After column ( latin Crena analis , Crena ani , Crena interglutaealis , sulcus gluteal , clunium stria , gluteal cleft or rima clunium ; English anal rim , intergluteal cleft, the gluteal fold, bum crack or bottom cleft ; colloquially Pospalte , gluteal fold , Arschritze , rear sight , rear sight ass or ass notch) is the deep furrow, both buttocks ( Clunes ) or buttocks medially from each other. The tip of the coccyx is palpable at its upper end , while the Michaelis diamond adjoins the head of the woman . At the bottom, the anal channel merges into the dam with the thigh gap . In the Analrinne hidden lies the anus . Since the skin lies close together in the anal groove, there is a predisposition for skin fold dermatitis ( intertrigo ), for anal eczema and for anal pruritus . Moreover, in the can gluteal fold a Pilonidalsinus arise.

Not to be confused with the pubic cleft ( Rima pudendi , Rima vulvae) of women. This lies in the extension of the anal groove in the ventral direction beyond the dam.

The anal groove must also not be confused with the two gluteal grooves ( sulcus glutaeus , sulcus glutealis, ruga glutaea horizontalis) running perpendicular to it . These horizontal furrows are also sometimes called gluteal folds. This is where the thighs begin .

None of these column or fold names are included in the official lists of anatomical terms .
