The Badberg nature reserve is located in the municipality of Vogtsburg in the Kaiserstuhl in Baden-Württemberg .

Characteristics

The area was first designated as a nature reserve under the protection area number 3076 by ordinance of the then regional council of South Baden on August 9, 1969. The CDDA code is 81345 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

location

The protected area lies in the triangle between the Vogtsburg hamlet Altvogtsburg and the districts of Oberbergen and Schelingen . It belongs entirely to the FFH area No. 7911-341 Kaiserstuhl and also to the bird sanctuary of the same name No. 7912-442 Kaiserstuhl . It is located in the natural area 203- Kaiserstuhl within the natural spatial main unit 20- Southern Upper Rhine Lowland . The NSG Haselschacher Buck is directly adjacent to the east of Badberg .

Protection purpose

According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation of the Badberg as a habitat for species-rich societies of rare, partly endangered plant and animal species, as an important demonstration and research object in geology, botany and zoology and as an elevation that characterizes the central Kaiserstuhl and has a special landscape.
