The Bisten nature reserve is located in the municipality of Hinterzarten in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district in Baden-Württemberg .

Characteristics

The protected area was created on August 28, 1975 by ordinance of the Freiburg Regional Council with the protected area number 3089. This ordinance was published in the law gazette for Baden-Württemberg on September 30, 1975 and came into force thereafter. The CDDA code is 81410 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

location

The area is around two kilometers west of Hinterzarten. It encompasses the bist trough consisting of three part cages. The karst walls are occupied by various forest communities.

The protected area is completely enclosed by the protected landscape area 3.15.026 Breitnau-Hinterzarten . It belongs to the FFH area No. 8114-341 Black Forest around Hinterzarten and the Southern Black Forest Nature Park and is located in the natural area 155- High Black Forest within the natural spatial main unit 15- Black Forest .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the Bisten Hollow as an area

of historical importance and high aesthetic appeal of an old cultural landscape of the southern Black Forest,
with various grassland and fen communities with occurrences of numerous rare and endangered plant and animal species,
with occurrences of various geomorphological features and thus of particular importance for science.
