Häuslematt is a nature reserve in the Upper Black Forest natural area in Baden-Württemberg . There are well-developed transitional and fen areas with very endangered plant formations and are the location of rare plant communities and plant species.

The nature reserve lies in the area of ​​the communities Simonswald ( district Emmendingen ) and St. Peter ( district Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald ) on the boundaries of the communities of the same name in Baden-Württemberg. It is located on the so-called Platte, a plateau of the Kandel , west above Obersimonswald, the upper end of the Simonswäldertal at approx. 1000  m above sea level. NHN .

The source of the Zweribach is only a few hundred meters north of the Buchhornbrunnen in the Kandelwald. The stream runs right past the western edge of the protected area. At the eastern and direct edge of the area is the Plattenhäusle farm, 300 meters away is the Althäuslehof and Lake Balaton is about one kilometer further south.

Characteristics

The area was designated as a nature reserve by ordinance on April 22, 1985 and is listed under the protected area number 3.142 at the Freiburg Regional Council. It has an area of ​​7.2 hectares , with 6.9 hectares falling in the district of Emmendingen and the remaining 0.3 hectares in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald. The nature reserve is classified in IUCN Category IV, a biotope and species protection area. The WDPA ID is 163564 and corresponds to the European CDDA code and the EUNIS no.
