The nature reserve Rappennestgießen is located in the municipality of Vogtsburg in the Kaiserstuhl in Baden-Württemberg .

The area was designated as a nature reserve under the protection area number 3146 by ordinance of the Freiburg Regional Council of July 3, 1985. The CDDA code is 165100 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

location

The protected area is located west of the Vogtsburg district of Burkheim directly on the Rhine. It is completely enclosed by the Rheinauenwälder landscape protection area and also belongs to the FFH area Rheinniederung from Breisach to Sasbach and to the bird sanctuary Rheinniederung Breisach-Sasbach with Limberg . It is located in the natural area 200 - Markgräfler Rheinebene within the natural spatial main unit 20 - Southern Upper Rhine Lowland . The main body of water is the continuous old retreat .

Protection purpose

According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation of the area with its spring ponds, sluices , oxbow lakes, riparian zones and forests that are characteristic of the Rheinaue as a habitat for numerous animal and plant communities with rare species, some of which are threatened with extinction, and as a natural part of the landscape of special character and beauty and as an object for science.
